Gourmet Restaurant
A true institution north of Tours, this hotel and restaurant, established in 1875, occupies two charming houses in Semblançay. Now run by Alice Bardet, daughter of the illustrious Jean Bardet, and Olivier Loize, the establishment carries on a fine regional tradition, both in the quality of its hospitality and in the chef’s dishes. The menu lives up to its reputation, featuring Olivier’s famous terrine, a thick slice of sea bass in a puff pastry crust stuffed with scallops, lemon-herb whipped butter, and potato mousseline, as well as the veal fillet served with pan-seared chanterelles lightly seasoned with curry and crushed tomatoes. Well-stocked wine cellar.
