Have you ever dreamed of delicious, fresh, homemade pasta just like in Italy? At Capucci, that’s the norm: the chef prepares everything on-site and never serves the same menu twice. In the kitchen, Nirojan Kulasingam, originally from Sri Lanka (the city of Jaffna) and trained in Italian cuisine, has been at the helm for ten years, surrounded by a close-knit team: in the dining room, Théo Girard-Reydet and Etienne Mesguich make guests feel right at home. Open for thirteen years now near the Opera and Galeries Lafayette, the trattoria welcomes guests to large tables. Every morning, Nirojan lets the team—and then the customers—taste his creations, and this feedback determines the week’s menu. The classics are there, prepared to perfection: Cacio e pepe with pecorino and pepper; Pomodoro with cherry tomatoes, Parmesan cream, basil, and house-made oil. The focaccia comes out of the oven every day at 11:55 a.m. For dessert, try the house-made tiramisu or a financier. Pasta, oils, and sauces are all made in-house. A true Italian home away from home.
