Winery presentation by Gault&Millau
Robert, the grandfather of Mathieu and Nicolas, developed the family vineyard in Cuchery, a small village southwest of Reims. Today, the two brothers continue to share their grandfather’s conviction—he used to say that a well-maintained vineyard stands the test of time. This is certainly true of this 4.96-hectare vineyard, which spans the villages of Cuchery, Cuisles, Jonquery, Fleury-la-Rivière, and Damery, on soils that are predominantly clay-limestone. Their champagnes are crafted with minimal intervention to extract the essence that most faithfully reflects the terroir. The two brothers co-founded the association Les Greffons de la Vallée, a collective of winemakers that fosters collaboration and showcases the work of these artisans from the Marne Valley.
